april fools!
but this is reality...
america...the world's "leading" country...let's see some of it
america...highest rate of STD's
america...highest rate of crime and homicides
america...$1 billion porn industry
america...highest pollution rate
america...one of the worst educators of developed countries between 8th and 12th grade
america...most wasteful people of food, money, time, and many other things.
414.
once again i'm in the middle of another peaceful day here in america. peace. what does all this war come to. here is another day that's going to be recorded in every history book ever made from this day forward. at least in america. will they talk about this war with pride as well. well the newscasters shed even a tear this time. will america shed a tear that these innocent people have been striped of their lives, and all their posessions before that. i want to know. what is it like? what's it like to have bombs in your back yard. maybe there would be some understanding if that experience existed. but not for me. freedom kicks in. we can move about freely in this country. my heart is at a standstill. my eyes search around in the hope of an answer. an answr that is skips along the lines of impossible. laying down is easy for most of us. but not for two billion other people in the world. hopefully those people have not been stripped of their wonders of imagination, creativity, dreams, hope, faith, and love. i dream of a day where peace rains across the world.
the first time i touched, and the response, e-mail july 1999.
saddened. i tell people i want to get PhD. some of those i tell say, what about the money to go to school? once again money becomes a larger issue than education. this is backwards people! america is greatly dealing with this issue. we put money in front of education! sad!
the great irony of america. there is much stress of being an individual, being yourself. yet at the same time this is layered by thousands of images of image, what to be, what's hip what's not, how to act, how to walk. and when we see individuals they are often laughed at and mocked. interesting how people want to be their own, yet they stick the stereotypes and to the things are are 'in'.
i've come to see america.
i went to look for america, i found it over and over again.
the puds do america.
If the future of America is in this room, then I'm concerned.
i'm a frustrated citizen of the united states of america.
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.
the wussification of america.
i better climb mount everest in the next forty-eight years, or else i'll have another foot to climb.
Proposal A...instead of bombing, or at least in addition, lets drop the 20,000 tons of steel and cement on their land. Should America really have to deal with that rubble? Lets make use of it
i hate having usuals, i don't want to be bland and predictable.
america needs a remix of the thong song, maybe an emo version, boyshorts are just too popular now.
life is only as difficult as your number one priority.
these trees are so much easier to understand than people.
the first step in any problem is to admit the problem exists....
america needs to admit to a lot of the problems that exist here!
welcome to the ethnocentric america.
skateboard industry...
$1.4 billion industry
16 million skateboarders in the U.S.
20 million skateboarders worldwide
300 professional equipment manufacturers
100,000 professional skatebord decks and 500,000 wheels are produced each month
800 public and private skateparks in the U.S.
it became a commodity.
not even why, but how would we forget, we're not stupid.
the big booya fooya.
i have this life of my own, it exists out side of michigan state university, it exists out side of michigan, it exists outside of the united states of america. these are just the settings of my life, but there are other factors that determine the integrity of my character.
technology...every day something new is being developed. what i wonder is...do we have to come out with absolutely everything thats possible? what is the rush for technology? what is the rush in america? there is so much already available to us that people don't even use potentially. it seems that whenever a new technology is available, people demand it. what is the need? can we be content with what we have? i think we can. i'm not knocking technology by any means, i love it just as much as anyone. but must we become infatuated with it? it would be nice to see people more relaxed. there is not always a need to be succeeding...there is more to life than that success and advancement. and before we can do any of that we must know where we are. how can we do that when were in such a fast pace?
developed countries (20% of the population) use 90% of the world's resources.
america wastes 43% of its energy/resources.
400,000 babies born per day.
every second the worlds population grows by 3 people.
140,000 people die each day in the world.
30,000 of these are children dying by age 5.
15,000 people will die from cancer.
10,000 children will die from diarrhea.
10,000 people will die a violent death.
It took over 10,000 years for the world population to hit 1 billion in 1800, and in the last 200 years it has grown 5 billion.
i'm heart felt and longing for love, a struggle will not keep me down. from adversity we thrive, from adversity we grow. our transgressions our only a beginning to a better day. may it be today that we love. may it be today that we forget to hate. a heart felt thank you goes out to hereos of every day. the people who simply say i love you. these tears will strengthen me. may i rest well tonight. may my soul, spirit, heart, mind and body strengthen! a genuine soul and spirit will not be overcome. today is glorious, as is everyday. i will love, i will be kind and compassionate. and for all america...in god we trust.
