there is a stark contrast in people between those who are believers and those who are not, or you could say the optimistics and pessimistics. For all the people who's negativity is thrown into the dreams of others to try to rattle them is the exact reason why a project like this is needed. It's amazing the absolute contrast in people.

how long has it been since you've wrote a hand written letter? sometimes i get disappointed because the individuality of handwriting is being pushed away by the dominence of e-mail. there may not seem to be any kind of difference to a lot of people. for most people...a hand-written letter is much more rewarding than an e-mail. take some time to write a letter. reach over and grab a pen and some paper. people will love to hear from you in a different way. that is sometimes the essence of it...its not done that often, but when it does its very rewarding due to people not expecting.

peace in the middle east, yo'.

a friend told me that, "some people wait their entire lives for their moment to shine, but you've been shining for your entire life." a wise and very true statement. people should realize how much they have to offer. People should realize how beautiful they are.

elders need to be respected. elders are great tools for us. people do not take time to understand the needs of elders. what it takes to be an elder. what it is to be old. old is knowledge. old is experience. old is feared by most people. why aren't people encouraged by growing older. more opportunities for us. more capabilities. more chances to make a difference in the world. no need to be lonely.

technology...every day something new is being developed. what i wonder is...do we have to come out with absolutely everything thats possible? what is the rush for technology? what is the rush in america? there is so much already available to us that people don't even use potentially. it seems that whenever a new technology is available, people demand it. what is the need? can we be content with what we have? i think we can. i'm not knocking technology by any means, i love it just as much as anyone. but must we become infatuated with it? it would be nice to see people more relaxed. there is not always a need to be succeeding...there is more to life than that success and advancement. and before we can do any of that we must know where we are. how can we do that when were in such a fast pace?

we all remember austin powers and when dr. evil requests from the president in the 70's that he wants one billion dollars. we all think of bill gates and one billion dollars and how much it is. but now...pepsi is giving one billion doallars away to one lucky winner. one thousand millions. i find this absurd. how about instead of making one person filthy rich we make one thousand people rich. or...they could give $500,000 to two thousand people. or how about giving it in chunks of $100,000. that way they could thrill 10,000 people not just one. 100k is a lot of money. it shows how much ridiculus profit they make. making the people who buy poorer and the people who sell it richer. why do they need all that money. $1,000,000,000!!! spread the wealth...c'mon. charity. poverty. education. health. yet they just give it away to one person. sad.

they name a lot of cars, a lot of names, a lot of beer, and a lot of clothes, but nobody talks about anything different than someone else.

clarisse said this in reply to what people talk about. in relatity, it does seem to be true. for the most part people go on talking about the little things in life, and not about what makes life so essential. it would be nice to see some conversations about the essence of life, how people are truly doing, and not talk about the typical. find a new level that you haven't come down to. conversate in new patterns, talk about what's going on inside, rather than outside.

concerned. it is pathetic how far you can make it in this nation while being highly ignorant. people only want to learn what they need to know to get the job done. one of the worst attitudes is passing an issue becuase it doesn't affect you. education cannot stop at any age. education must always be advancing in everyone's life. we must learn what is going on. not just in the news. i'm bothered by how passive, how easily passive, people are, and how far you can make it when being passive.

we are human beings, another species in nature. we cannot win. nature is powerful. people need to know that we cannot control nature.

the first time i touched, and the response, e-mail july 1999.

saddened. i tell people i want to get PhD. some of those i tell say, what about the money to go to school? once again money becomes a larger issue than education. this is backwards people! america is greatly dealing with this issue. we put money in front of education! sad!

the great irony of america. there is much stress of being an individual, being yourself. yet at the same time this is layered by thousands of images of image, what to be, what's hip what's not, how to act, how to walk. and when we see individuals they are often laughed at and mocked. interesting how people want to be their own, yet they stick the stereotypes and to the things are are 'in'.
